ESCAPADE is a French company and as such, our general terms and conditions of sale shall apply within the framework of current French legislation, in particular with regard to the provisions of decree n° 94.490 dated 15 June 1994.
The purchase of a stay implies the buyer's acceptance of all the general terms and conditions of sale stated below.
Rates and Booking Terms & Conditions for Group Stays apply to bookings of 20 people or more.
1/Bookings and Payment
1.1/ Making a Booking: You can book a stay by email, fax or letter post by specifying the number of guests and your choice of accommodation and catering options. You can phone us for any information which is not contained in our brochures.
1.2/ Provisional Booking: Following your call or written request, ESCAPADE will issue you with a quotation or a Booking Contract, provisionally setting out the different elements and services included in your stay, and the financial terms that will apply.
1.3/ Confirmation: Your booking becomes firm once ESCAPADE has received your deposit, and a copy of the contract signed by you, within 10 days of issuing the contract. If payment is not received within that time, the booking will be automatically cancelled and the accommodation will be put back on sale.
1.4/ Payment: 25% of the total cost of the stay is payable as an initial deposit at the time of booking.
A second deposit of 50% of the total cost of the stay is payable 30 days before the start date of your stay.
At the end of your stay, we will issue a summary bill and the outstanding balance will be payable immediately.
Failure to pay the second deposit before your arrival may cause you to be refused entry to the holiday accommodation and may be considered as a last-minute cancellation.
2/Terms & Conditions of Your Stay
2.1/Arrival: Guests must present themselves at Reception at the time and date stated. Unless you notify ESCAPADE, your late arrival will entail the cancellation of your booking and no refund will be possible.
If you arrive later or leave earlier than planned, we will consider this as a cancellation of the unused period of your reservation, and no refund will be made under any circumstances.
2.2/Cancellation: In the event that the entire group cancels, cancellation charges are based on the number of days left until the start of the stay, as follows:
- More than 75 days: 5% of the total amount;
- 75 – 30 days: 25% of the total amount;
- 29 – 14 days: 50% of the total amount;
- 13 - 5 days: 75% of the total amount;
- Less than 5 days: 100% of the total amount
If you do not appear on the day your stay is due to start, we will not make any refund.
2.3/Modifications: In the event that ESCAPADE or one of our contractors needs to make any substantive modification to the terms of your stay prior to the start date of your booking, we will notify you. Within 7 days of this notification, you are entitled to: either cancel your booking and receive a full refund of monies paid, or accept the modified booking by signing an amendment to the contract, which will set out the new terms and any price changes that these entail.
Alteration to Group numbers: If the number of members in your group decreases by up to 5% prior to arrival, there is no forfeit payable. However, if the decrease is over 5%, the following charges will be payable:
- 60-45 days before the beginning of your stay, you forfeit 10% per person cancelled
- 44-30 days before the beginning of your stay, you forfeit 30% per person cancelled
- 29-8 days before the beginning of your stay, you forfeit 50% per person cancelled
- less than 8 days before the beginning of your stay, you forfeit 100% per person cancelled
Rental of living accommodation: Units are furnished and equipped. Unless otherwise specified, bedlinen and towels are not provided (can be hired on site).
Rental of other premises eg. halls, meeting rooms and/or kitchen: Premises will be provided as specified in the rental contract, and will be clean with all equipment in perfect working order. When you rent them, you agree to use the premises exclusively for the activities agreed in your rental contract. You are responsible for ensuring the premises are left in the same condition as when you took possession of them: furniture and equipment must be in their correct places, and everything must be clean and in good order (buckets, brooms and mops are available for your use, but you must supply your own cleaning products).
In the event that the premises are not (or not properly) cleaned, ESCAPADE will make a deduction from your deposit to cover the costs incurred as a result of this.
It is your responsibility to visit the premises with a representative of ESCAPADE prior to taking possession, in order to familiarise yourself with the layout of the premises you are renting, to go over the inventory together, and to ask any questions you may have.
In full or half board: Accommodation type is contingent on the number of guests. Bedlinen and towels are supplied (unless otherwise specified in the booking contract or quotation). There will be no refund for meals which are ordered, but not taken.
2.5/Deposit: We do not ask for a deposit for Group Bookings, except if you hire non-living accommodation, such as halls, meeting rooms or a kitchen.
Deposit for halls & meeting rooms: 1000€
Deposit for a fully-equipped professional kitchen (only available at Meymac Holiday Village): 2000€
Your deposit will be refunded after we have conducted an exit inventory (deductions will be made in the event of damage or loss, or in case of poorly executed cleaning).
- Tourist Tax: We are legally required to charge holiday-makers a “taxe de séjour”, which is a small amount payable on site (unless otherwise specified in your quotation or provisional booking contract).
- Single room: 16€ per person per day
- Cancellation insurance : This is not included in our rates, but you can take it out when you sign the contract (contact us for further details).
- Pet supplement: 26 € per week
2.7/Financial Assistance : ESCAPADE is authorised by ANCV (Agence Nationale pour les Chèques Vacances) to accept “chèques vacances”, which have to be sent to us as soon as possible.
3.1/Theft, damage and Public Liability: Our facilities managers cannot be held responsible for theft or damage to personal items, whether occurring inside or outside the rental accommodation. We advise guests not to bring any valuable items or large sums of money. During their stay, guests are protected by our public liability insurance which covers any physical or material damage they might suffer and for which ESCAPADE is held liable.
3.2/Complaints: Any complaint about your stay must be sent to ESCAPADE by registered letter with recorded delivery within 15 days of the end of your stay.
